I think I would’ve enjoyed this movie (even) more hadn’t I read the books. Now, it feels rushed and I’m missing a LOT of background information which makes me less invested in the characters in comparison to the the characters in the books. It has beautiful scenes and the story is epic, it just didn’t evoke the same feelings as the book did. Enjoyed it thoroughly nonetheless.

Wonderful worldbuilding, interesting enough characters, and the beginnings of a good plot hook. Terrible advertising, but decent potential for the sequel.
