Pinocchio

Wow! I mean, I remember having nightmares from watching the animation series when I was little but I think I would have been traumatised for live had I seen this movie then.  In my memory Jimmy was a smart, wise cricket trying to protect Pinocchio. Here it’s an awful looking monster. I mean, even Pinocchio was kind of eerie... Gepetto I remember as being so sweet, I loved the guy; here he just made a foolish impression. Pinocchio I remember as just being a young “boy” making foolish mistakes (just being a child); here he was just plain obnoxious. And then, I have to mention it again, all those horrific scenes. I even thought I had missed something and that it was supposed to be a (albeit slow paced) horror movie.  It did have a lot of potential, it just... I don’t know... I’m flabbergasted... Might change my rating... I just don’t know...
