The film was released in two versions: an edited cut that aired on the Sci-Fi Channel on October 15, 2005, and an R-rated version released on DVD on April 18, 2006.

Rue Morgue's 2006 year-in-review called it 'the worst cinematic atrocity to wound your retinas.'

Bloody Disgusting gave a more mixed review, praising it for evoking 'a simpler time in Sci-fi and Horror' through gruesome effects and a cast of 'pretty-but-bland stereotypes,' while still calling it a schlockfest.
