Into the West is a 2005 American Western miniseries produced by Steven Spielberg and DreamWorks, consisting of six two-hour episodes.

The miniseries was filmed in Drumheller, Alberta, and Santa Fe, New Mexico, standing in for the American frontier settings of the story.

The show features a massive ensemble cast with about 250 speaking parts, including well-known performers such as Josh Brolin, Gary Busey, Skeet Ulrich, Keri Russell, Sean Astin, Beau Bridges, and Wes Studi.

An episode dramatizes the August 1854 Grattan massacre, portraying a violent clash sparked by a dispute over a stray cow from a Mormon wagon train.

The series depicts real historical events and figures intertwined with fictional characters, including the Sand Creek Massacre, the Battle of the Little Bighorn, the Wounded Knee Massacre, and figures like Custer, Sitting Bull, Red Cloud, and Black Kettle.

Into the West was nominated for 16 Primetime Emmy Awards, including Outstanding Limited Series, and won two, as well as receiving a Golden Globe nomination for Best Mini-Series or Motion Picture Made for Television.

A two-disc album of Geoff Zanelli's musical score for the series was released in 2013 by La-La Land Records, eight years after the show originally aired.

A four-disc DVD box set was released on October 4, 2005, featuring producer, director, and cast interviews alongside the six episodes.
