Although the show is set in Indianapolis, Indiana, it is actually filmed at the Old Warner Brothers Studio in California.

Origins

The series was created by Regina Y. Hicks and Wanda Sykes, with Sykes also starring and executive producing alongside Mike Epps, Niles Kirchner, and Page Hurwitz through Push It Productions.

Casting

Netflix gave the series a production order on August 20, 2019, with Sykes and Epps cast from the start, while Kim Fields joined the starring cast later on March 4, 2020.

Several other main cast members, including Gabrielle Dennis, Page Kennedy, Diamond Lyons, Khali Daniya-Renee Spraggins, Jermelle Simon, and Journey Christine, were not cast until December 2, 2020, more than a year after the series was ordered.
