Trivia & behind the scenes

/
Origins

Worst Week is an American adaptation of the British sitcom The Worst Week of My Life.

Origins

Fox had previously attempted to adapt the British series under the title Worst Week of My Life, but no series materialized after the pilot was filmed, leaving CBS to later produce its own version.

Reception

The series premiere on CBS attracted 11 million viewers but lost about a third of the audience carried over from its lead-in, Two and a Half Men.

Reception

Ratings dropped to a low of 8.4 million viewers by the sixth episode before climbing back up to a high of 12.12 million viewers for the eleventh episode.

Reception

Critic Verne Gay of Newsday gave the show an A grade, calling it possibly the best new comedy on network TV that season, while Linda Stasi of the New York Post called it one of the worst new shows of the week.

Reception

Tim Goodman of the San Francisco Chronicle questioned how CBS could stretch the format into 22 episodes, noting the original British series only ran seven episodes per season across two seasons.

Reception

CBS cancelled the series after just one season, with the finale airing on June 6, 2009.
