Trivia & behind the scenes

/
Casting

Richard Blais joined the mentoring panel alongside Gordon Ramsay and Nyesha Arrington, replacing Gino D'Acampo who had originally been attached to the project.

Origins

Fox ordered the series on May 17, 2021, with Gordon Ramsay serving both as a mentor and executive producer.

Filming

The first two seasons were filmed on a purpose-built set in Las Vegas constructed inside an industrial tent, featuring three stacked kitchens where equipment like burners, ranges, and generators all ran on gas.

Filming

Starting with the third season, production moved from Las Vegas to Ashford Studios in County Wicklow, Ireland.

Trivia

The second season premiered on February 12, 2023 as the lead-out program immediately following Super Bowl LVII.

Trivia

Season 3 introduced a unique challenge where the ingredient platform did not stay stationary for the top and middle kitchens, moving up and down multiple times so only basement contestants had a fixed window to grab ingredients while others had to catch items on the fly.

Trivia

In season 4, judges cooked on the show for the first time, preparing desserts to accompany the contestants' appetizers and main courses during a team challenge.

Reception

A British version aired on ITV starting January 11, 2023, with Gordon Ramsay and Nyesha Arrington joined by Paul Ainsworth, and was won by social media chef Jade Greenhalgh before being cancelled after just one season.
