Chelsea Lately

Chelsea Handler previously starred in The Chelsea Handler Show, a sketch comedy series that aired on E! in 2006, before being approached to host her own late-night talk show in 2007.

Handler was approached to host her own show while she was dating the head of Comcast, E!'s parent company, though she initially said she was skeptical of the idea.

On October 15, 2012, the show relocated from the Westside Media Center Studios in West Los Angeles, a facility previously used by E! sister network G4 for Attack of the Show, which had only its background changed with added audience seating for Chelsea Lately.

The show later moved to Stage 1 at Universal Studios Hollywood, a set previously used by The Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien during its brief seven-month run.

When the series moved to its new Universal Studios set, the opening theme was changed to a new version composed by Pharrell Williams.

Frequent round-table panelists Ross Mathews, Josh Wolf, and Fortune Feimster occasionally guest-hosted the show, with Mathews receiving especially positive reviews.

Actress Lindsay Lohan guest-hosted the show on August 5, 2013, just six days after being released from a court-ordered 90-day incarceration period.

During a June 20, 2011 episode discussing Amy Winehouse's poorly received concert in Belgrade, Handler made a joke about Serbia that sparked international backlash, including a formal letter of complaint from the Serbian Ambassador to the United States.
