The Cleaner is a British sitcom created by and starring Greg Davies, based on the German comedy series Der Tatortreiniger ("Crime Scene Cleaner").

The show premiered on BBC One on 10 September 2021, with a second series and Christmas special following on 23 December 2022, and a third series announced in January 2024 and airing from 4 October 2024.

In a 2026 interview, Greg Davies revealed the show would continue, saying he wasn't allowed to say much but that 'The Cleaner is not finished, we're working on something.'

Each episode features Greg Davies' character Wicky, a crime scene cleaner, interacting with a different guest star playing a person connected to the crime scene he is cleaning.

The guest cast across the series includes a wide range of well-known British actors such as Helena Bonham Carter, David Mitchell, Harriet Walter, Simon Callow, Zoë Wanamaker, Steve Pemberton, and Gemma Whelan, each appearing in a single episode as a different character.

Welsh singer Shakin' Stevens made a guest appearance in the show playing a character named 'Shaking Stephen' in episode 11 of series 2.
