Ten Percent is a British adaptation of the French series Call My Agent! (Dix pour cent), both set in talent agencies dealing with turbulence after their founder's unexpected death.

Writer John Morton adapted the French series after the success of his own British workplace satires Twenty Twelve and W1A, the latter of which also featured celebrity cameos and centered on the BBC.

Morton felt there were two possible directions for portraying the agent-client relationships—cynical or affectionate—and chose the affectionate route, which he felt aligned best with the tone of the original French series.

The series features many real actors playing exaggerated versions of themselves as celebrity clients of the talent agency.

Several characters were created specifically for the British adaptation with no equivalent in the French original: Simon Gould (Tim McInnerny), Kirsten Furst (Chelsey Crisp), and Kevin (Jack Holden).

Stella's loyal dog is named Mathias in the British series, a nod that reverses the naming convention since the French version's equivalent dog was named Jean Gabin after a French actor.

The series was cancelled after just one series.

Critics were divided: some, like Rachel Cooke of the New Statesman, felt the celebrity cameos were less impressive than in the French original, while others like Camilla Long of The Times enjoyed the cameos but found the Amazon streaming release off-putting.

Sophie Gilbert of The Atlantic praised the show for developing a distinctly British sensibility, highlighting original elements like the character Simon and the American executives as the show's most resonant additions not found in the French source material.
