Please Teacher!

The series was later continued with a spin-off sequel, Please Twins!, which shares the same timeline and premiered on WOWOW in 2003, followed further by Please Friends! and Please Tutor!, together forming the 'Onegai' series.

Although never explicitly stated in the anime or manga, the story's setting is Lake Kizaki in Nagano, Japan, and the surrounding real locations are depicted accurately throughout the series.

The high school in the story, Kizaki High School, is modeled after the real Old Matsumoto High School located in Agatanomori Park in Matsumoto, and the tower where Kaede and Hyosuke stand can be found in the real Joyama Park in the same city.

Lake Kizaki and its surroundings became a pilgrimage site for fans, who joined local residents in a cleanup and beautification campaign called the 'Mizuho Project'.

A scene from the mecha film Shin Getter Robo vs Neo Getter Robo appears within episode 4 of the series, shown as a movie the characters watch.

On early DVD packaging and in round-table talk subtitles, the character name Shido Matagu (四道) was mistakenly printed as Shido (四堂); this error was later corrected on subsequent packaging.

In episode 6 of the anime Cosmos Sou de Sumeba Miyako, an in-universe cartoon segment features a love scene between characters resembling Mizuho and Matagu, voiced by the actual original voice actors, with Sayaka Ohara (as a character named Kurika) delivering Mizuho's catchphrase 'This is a priority one!' to close the episode.

Mizuho's favorite snack, called 'Pochy' in the series, is a fictionalized version of the real Japanese snack Pocky.
