The series is inspired by real events, based on the story of 'Los Miami', a criminal gang that had a major presence controlling Madrid's nightclubs and cocaine trafficking in the 1990s and became a fixture of tabloid headlines and TV shows.

The project was announced in 2018 as a series inspired by Los Miami, with journalist Javier Negre initially set to be its screenwriter, but when the series was officially announced in May 2021 it moved forward without his involvement.

The original idea for the series came from José Manuel Lorenzo, who created the show, which was ultimately written by Diego Sotelo and David Moreno and directed by David Ulloa and Rafa Montesinos.

Álex García was chosen to play the lead role of José Antonio Ortiz Torres, the gang boss known as 'El Inmortal'.

Filming began in the Aluche district of Madrid on 4 May 2021 and continued across locations in the Madrid region and the province of Alicante, wrapping by August 2021.

The series consists of eight episodes of about 50 minutes each, produced by Movistar+, Telemundo International Studios and DLO Producciones.

The show had its world premiere in competition in the Long Form category at the 2022 Canneseries festival before being presented at the Vitoria-based FesTVal and premiering on Movistar+ on 27 October 2022.

A review by HobbyConsolas rated the series 70/100, praising the performances, setting and 90s hit-filled soundtrack, but criticizing its anticlimactic open ending and poor sound mixing that made dialogue hard to understand.
