The series is based on a webtoon of the same name from Naver platform, created by author Kkomabi.

The screenplay was written by Kim Da Min, who won the grand prize in the full-length screenplay category at the Gyeonggi Scenario Planning and Development competition in 2019.

Director Lee Chan Hee previously worked on the film Missing Night (2018) and the series Hell Is Other People (2019).

Filming of the series began in the second half of 2022 and took place in the city of Daejeon.

Actor Kang Ji Sok, who played young Chan Nan Gam, was invited back to the project a year after collaborating with the creators in the tvN drama Sword of Aramuna.

Actor Lee Ji Hoon reunited with the series creators a year after their work together on the film Crime City 3 (2023), which led to his casting for the role.

On the Rotten Tomatoes aggregator, 100% of 9 critics' reviews were positive, with an average score of 7.3 out of 10.

After its release, the series ranked second in Netflix's global top-10 among non-English-language shows, and the following week it topped the chart with 39.5 million hours watched and 5.5 million viewers, remaining in the top 10 for two more weeks.
