Origins

The Onimusha ONA series is based on Capcom's video game franchise of the same name and was first revealed in September 2022 during Netflix's virtual Tudum event.

Casting

The series is chief directed by renowned filmmaker Takashi Miike, while Shinya Sugai served as director, with animation produced by Sublimation.

Japanese actor Toshiro Mifune was used as a physical model for the design of the protagonist Musashi Miyamoto.
