Four Kings was created by David Kohan and Max Mutchnick, the same duo who created the hit sitcom Will & Grace.

The show aired on NBC for only a short winter run from January 5 to March 16, 2006, before being pulled from the schedule.

NBC officially confirmed the cancellation on May 15, 2006, and although it initially announced plans to air the remaining episodes starting May 25, 2006, it never followed through.

The unaired episodes eventually found an audience abroad, airing in syndication on the Living network in the UK and on the Nine Network in Australia.

Casting

Two of the show's stars had already signed on to other projects before cancellation, which reportedly hurt the series' chances of being renewed.
