The series is a loose adaptation of the cult manga 'Les Gouttes de Dieu' by Tadashi Agi and Shu Okimoto, and creator Quoc Dang Tran read all 44 volumes of the manga while the TV drama spent five years in development with various experts and consultants to ensure authenticity.

France Télévisions developed a free interactive 3D game with 11e District/Alpha Studio to accompany the series' release, letting players explore Alexandre Léger's cellar and solve puzzles to find a mystery vintage within a 10-minute time limit.

In 2024, Taiwanese studio Softstar was granted rights to turn the series into a video game set in Burgundy, France, serving as a sequel to the PC title Hundred Days - Winemaking Simulator.
