The show's title, in the original French version called 'La Fièvre', is inspired by a passage from Stefan Zweig's novel 'The World of Yesterday' (Le Monde d'hier), which is quoted several times by the characters: 'There was nothing left to do but withdraw into oneself and remain silent as long as the fever and delirium of others lasted.'

The scenes set in the football club's stadium were filmed at the Stade Gaston-Gérard, home of DFCO, in Dijon.

Kad Merad reprises his role as Philippe Rickwaert, President of the Republic from the series 'Baron noir', appearing in the finale of this show.

Canal+ announced on April 16, 2024, a joint follow-up series connecting this show with 'Baron noir', which Kad Merad confirmed a year later.

According to Le Figaro, French President Emmanuel Macron may have referenced the series during his June 9, 2024 speech announcing the dissolution of Parliament, with the newspaper noting that 'those in the know will have caught the wink to the TV series.'
