Brimstone

Episodes were originally filmed in a different order than they aired; for instance, the episode 'Poem' was produced as the second episode but broadcast as the fifth.

Each morning the protagonist wakes up with exactly $36.27 in his pocket, a subtle biblical reference to Ezekiel 36:27, which fits both his name (Ezekiel Stone) and his new spiritual mission.

The villain Gilbert Jax causes birds to fall dead from the sky in his presence, which may be an inverted reference to the song '(They Long to Be) Close to You'.

The series aired only one partial season on Fox during 1998–99 before being cancelled.

After cancellation, Brimstone found a second life in reruns on the Sci Fi Channel (later Syfy) starting in summer 1999, often airing during themed marathon events like 'Creatureland' and 'The 31 Days of Halloween', and later also on Chiller starting July 28, 2007.

Despite fan interest, Brimstone was ranked 13th on TVShowsOnDVD.com's list of most-wanted unreleased shows, and in a 2008 Home Theater Forum chat, Warner Home Video representatives confirmed there were no plans to release it on DVD despite praising the work of stars Peter Horton and John Glover.
