BanG Dream! It's MyGO!!!!!

Originally, the project was planned as a 26-episode series depicting two 10-member bands—MyGO!!!!! and Ave Mujica—simultaneously. However, when the script had progressed to around episode 4, Bushiroad decided to incorporate it into the existing BanG Dream! universe, leading to a major overhaul where character designs and settings were reconsidered from scratch. Ultimately, the structure was reorganized into a two-season format, with MyGO!!!!! in the first half and Ave Mujica taking center stage in the second half.

The project's initial concept involved debuting a melodic hardcore band and a metal band. Producer Nemoki Negishi of Bushiroad proposed the "serious-themed band project," which became the starting point for this work.

According to director Katsutaka Kakimoto, the script underwent major directional changes multiple times, with some episodes being rewritten 5 to 6 times. Chisaki Ayane was originally conceived as "a returnee wearing the mask of a model student with a bold personality," but was redesigned to emphasize flaws like "easily swayed by trends" and "calculating nature" to differentiate her from existing character Asahi Rokka.

The production team initially considered ending the story with the band's disbandment, but after being formally incorporated into the project, the upper management granted them "complete creative freedom," allowing them to develop an original storyline.

MyGO!!!!!'s members were selected through auditions, with "Kizuna Music♪" used as the audition song. Soyо Nagasaki's voice actor Mika Kobinata prepared with a mature-sounding voice during auditions, but was told during recording that it was "too mature" and adjusted to a higher pitch after discussion with the director.

Akane Yonezawa, cast as Nyamu, is a drummer for whom this is her voice acting debut. She initially practiced thinking the character would be "sultry," but was told mid-way that the direction had changed, leaving her confused. Finding it difficult to act while reading the script due to her lack of acting experience, she memorized all her lines before recording.

Episode 3 was structured with a long-take (single-shot style) direction from Akari Takamatsu's perspective. Director Hiroyoshi Matsuura (studio director) requested this technique after being inspired by a specific artist's live footage. Screenwriter Yuniko Ayao stated she referenced the film Being John Malkovich to write a first-person narrative.

The dressing room scene in episode 7 was shot with a fixed camera, written with reference to the monitoring show Monitoring, aiming to create a more realistic sense of presence by having characters constantly moving.

The live performance scenes in the series were recorded with actual musicians performing, including guitarist Daisuke Hasegawa and Ryohei Kinoshita from Aqua Timez. In the scene where Chisaki Ayane makes a mistake during performance, Hasegawa intentionally played the wrong string and the close-up of his hands was filmed and provided as reference material to Sanzigen.
