The four-part miniseries was commissioned by Disney+ in June 2023 and written by Jeff Pope, dramatizing the real-life killing of Jean Charles de Menezes by London police in 2005.

Jean Charles de Menezes' parents and other relatives served as consultants on the production, lending authenticity to the dramatization.

The ensemble cast includes Edison Alcaide as Jean Charles de Menezes, alongside Daniel Mays, Russell Tovey, Laura Aikman, Alex Jennings, Conleth Hill, Emily Mortimer and Max Beesley playing key police and legal figures involved in the case.

Filming took place in London starting October 2023, with scenes shot at Stockwell tube station itself over several days and nights, the actual location where the shooting occurred.

The production recreated the aftermath of the 7 July 2005 London bombings close to the real location of the incident, which prompted objections from observers.

On 6 November 2023, Disney released a public statement defending its methods in recreating the sensitive real-world events for the factual dramatization.

The Guardian's Phil Harrison praised the series as a tense rendering of events that is rightly severe on the Metropolitan Police's top brass while never forgetting the story of the blameless victim, played sensitively by Edison Alcaide.

The Telegraph's Anita Singh gave the series three out of five stars, criticizing it as somewhat sensationalist and lacking sufficient focus on de Menezes as a person.
