The drama is officially based on the webtoon Marriage Red, but it is actually a daily-life comic in which its author, divorce lawyer Choi Yu-na, showcased real cases she had handled, without a clear main storyline to adapt.

Because the webtoon lacked a dramatic narrative structure, the actual screenplay was written directly by Choi Yu-na herself, with the webtoon's content only serving as inspiration for some of the cases featured in the series.

Jang Na-ra, Nam Ji-hyun, Kim Jun-han, Pyo Ji-hoon, Ji Seung-hyun and Han Jae-yi were officially confirmed as the cast in January 2024.

The series was released exclusively through Netflix in around 50 countries across Asia-Pacific, Europe and the Americas.

At the 2024 SBS Drama Awards, Jang Na-ra won the Daesang (Grand Prize), while Nam Ji-hyun won Best Actress for the miniseries human/fantasy category and the main cast members shared the Best Teamwork award.

On April 3, 2025, Studio S confirmed that a second season was in production, though the broadcast dates, filming schedule and cast had not yet been decided at that time.

The drama's soundtrack was released in five parts between July and September 2024, featuring artists such as Lee Won-seok, Punch, Lee Bo-ram (SeeYa) and Woody.
