The series is adapted from the interview book 'Nos vemos en esta vida o en la otra' by Manuel Jabois, and takes place in the context of the acquisition of explosives used in the March 11, 2004 attacks in Madrid.

The project was announced by surprise by Disney+ on January 25, 2024, along with the release of its first trailer, only six weeks before its broadcast.

The main role of Gabriel Montoya Vidal, aka 'Baby', is played by two different actors depending on the character's age: Roberto Gutiérrez for the teenage version and Quim Ávila for the adult version.

The series was filmed during the summer of 2023 between Madrid and Asturias, reflecting the actual route of the explosives between these two regions evoked in the plot.

Directing was handled jointly by Jorge Sánchez-Cabezudo and Borja Soler, while writing brought together several screenwriters including Pablo Remón, Daniel Remón, Roberto Martín Maiztegui and Guillermo Chapa.

The series was presented at the 27th Málaga Film Festival on March 4, 2024, two days before its release on Disney+.

Critic Marta Medina from El Confidencial described the series as an 'impressive Fincher-esque drama' and gave it the maximum rating of 5 stars out of 5.

The series was praised by several Spanish critics for its sober and non-moralizing narrative approach to the attacks, favoring factual exposition over judgment.
