The series marked the directorial and writing debut of Aryan Khan, son of Shah Rukh Khan, who also served as showrunner. Aryan Khan graduated in film and television production from the USC School of Cinematic Arts and drew on his direct experience in the industry to create a satire on Bollywood.

The screenplay was written by Aryan Khan together with Bilal Siddiqi and Manav Chauhan, while production was overseen by Gauri Khan under Red Chillies Entertainment.

In addition to the main cast featuring Bobby Deol, Lakshya and Sahher Bambba, the series includes cameos from major Bollywood stars such as Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, Ranbir Kapoor, Ranveer Singh and Karan Johar.

Filming took place primarily in Mumbai to capture the authentic setting of the Indian film industry, with cinematography by Jay Pinak Oza and editing by Nitin Baid.

To promote the series, the music video 'Ghafoor' was created, featuring Tamannaah Bhatia, Shakti Kapoor, Gulshan Grover and Ranjeet, directed by Farah Khan; however, in the series the song was used only as background music.

In the final episode, the famous song 'Duniya Haseeno Ka Mela' from the 1997 Hindi film Gupt, featuring Bobby Deol, is used: via VFX, the face of Mona Singh (playing Neeta Singh) was superimposed over that of the original dancer Bhanu Khan next to Bobby Deol.

In mid-October 2025, Aryan Khan and Shah Rukh Khan collaborated with Meta to launch India's first 'secret reel', a behind-the-scenes video of the series that requires a password that can be deduced from a clue hidden in episode 6.

Following the series release, the National Human Rights Commission filed a complaint with Mumbai police because a scene shows Ranbir Kapoor using a banned e-cigarette without any legal notice or disclaimer.

Sameer Wankhede, former zonal director of the Narcotics Control Bureau known for the arrest of Aryan Khan in the Cordelia cruise case of 2021 (from which Khan was later exonerated), sued the series producers for defamation before the Delhi High Court, claiming he was the subject of a false and defamatory parody; the case was subsequently dismissed by the court for lack of jurisdiction.
