Fallen

Fallen is a 2006 ABC Family miniseries based on The Fallen series of novels by Thomas Sniegoski, adapted into three parts.

The first part was originally advertised as a standalone 'ABC Family Original Movie', but nearly a year later two additional parts of equal length were released over the course of a weekend to complete the story.

Paul Wesley stars as Aaron Corbett, a high school student who discovers he is a Nephilim, a human-angel hybrid.

An alternate reality game created to advertise the miniseries won a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Interactive Program.

Common Sense Media rated the miniseries four out of five stars and praised Aaron as 'a great role model' for defending bullied classmates and respecting his family.

In her Variety review, Laura Fries noted that the series follows Sniegoski's books closely in plot, though not in detail, and described it as 'more mythology than theology'.

Variety critic Laura Fries pointed out obvious similarities to 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer', such as a reluctant chosen one, a prophecy, and a protector figure, but felt the script lacked Buffy's snappy dialogue.
