Princession Orchestra started as an original TV anime project by King Records, Aria Entertainment, and Takara Tomy, with the initial concept created by Akifumi Kaneko, who also wrote the original story for the Senki Zesshō Symphogear series.

The show's creative team includes Noriyasu Agematsu as executive producer, the same duo behind Symphogear, and the overall theme of Alicepia is based on an Alice in Wonderland motif.

All the songs performed during battle scenes were recorded live in the recording booth (aftereko) rather than pre-recorded, allowing the voice actors to convey different nuances depending on the scene.

Director Shin Oonuma explained that it was too difficult to perfectly match lip-flaps and movements to the singing during battles, so the mouth animation was re-edited separately afterward to fit the recorded vocals.

The series carries over the 'fighting while singing' concept that was cultivated in Symphogear, directly building on creator Akifumi Kaneko's earlier work.

The first two episodes were briefly made available in the United States on the anime's official YouTube channel with official English subtitles during Anime Expo 2025.

A special crossover event was planned at Comic Market 107, where Princession Orchestra shared a joint booth with Symphogear, selling collaboration goods and holding a DJ performance for Symphogear's new music project 'GEARMANIA'.

The Symphogear official web radio program aired a special episode featuring Princession Orchestra voice actresses Yuri Fujimoto (Kagari) and Azusa Tachibana (Nagase) as guests alongside Symphogear cast members Yuka Iguchi and Ayahi Takagaki.
