Casting

The role of the fallen angel Azazeal was played by Michael Fassbender, who departed the show along with lead actress Christina Cole after the first series.

Filming

Hex was filmed at Englefield House, a Tudor manor that was modified in the 18th and 19th centuries, standing in for the fictional Medenham Hall.

Filming

Several exterior scenes for Series 2 were shot on location in the city of St Albans in Hertfordshire, including the city centre and the grounds of St Albans Cathedral.

Reception

The show received generally positive reviews and holds a Metacritic score of 66 out of 100, but was nonetheless cancelled in April 2006 after the end of its second series.

Trivia

The Region 1 DVD release, marketed as "Season 1", contains 10 episodes combining all of Series 1 with the first four episodes of Series 2, mirroring how BBC America had originally broadcast the show in the United States.
