La Revuelta

La revuelta is the direct sequel to La resistencia, made by the same team, after that show ended its run on the pay-per-view channel Movistar Plus+ (#0) between 2018 and 2024.

Before the real title was revealed, RTVE teased other possible names for the show, such as La resiliencia, La residencia and Las noches de Broncano, in a promotional clip showing someone typing on macOS OpenOffice Writer before landing on 'La revuelta'.

In episode 11, it was revealed that the team originally wanted names very similar to La resistencia, like La resistencia or La resiliencia, but copyright issues prevented this, and they also considered a joke name, Lentejas a las dos.

In its first 13 weeks, La revuelta was Spain's most-watched program in 36 out of 50 episodes, averaging 2,067,000 viewers, and it managed to beat rival show El Hormiguero as early as its second day on air despite El Hormiguero having led its timeslot for ten straight years.

During 2025, El Hormiguero regained its ratings lead over La revuelta, a decline attributed by observers and Broncano himself to the popularity of La isla de las tentaciones and the so-called 'Montoya effect' drawing away younger viewers.

On 10 November 2025, an episode featuring singer Rosalía gave La revuelta a strong ratings win over El Hormiguero, securing both the highest audience share and the highest raw overnight viewership for the show.

On 21 November 2024, on World Television Day, host David Broncano cancelled a scheduled interview with MotoGP champion Jorge Martín—who was already in the dressing room—claiming pressure had been applied for the rider to appear on rival show El Hormiguero first; the recorded interview was reportedly later lost.

Instead of airing the cancelled interview, La revuelta broadcast twelve minutes of dialogue-free footage from a documentary showing a deer bellowing.
