Creator Han Jun-hee, also director of D.P. and the first season of Weak Hero, based the series on his own experience of having worked about fifteen years earlier at the Jeonju International Film Festival, where he had to visit many restaurants in the area and met characters that he later included in a short screenplay.

The series premiered precisely at the 26th Jeonju International Film Festival, the same festival where years earlier its creator had worked and was inspired to write it.

For director Park Dan-hee, co-director also of Weak Hero 1, this series marked his first work directing solo.

Several supporting actors, such as Yoo Soo-bin, Bae Na-ra and Bae Yoo-ram, were chosen because they had previously worked with director Han Jun-hee on D.P. and Weak Hero.

For Go Min-si, the role of Mo Yeon-joo represented her first foray into the romantic comedy genre.

The filming was carried out entirely in the city of Jeonju, including the municipal plaza, and officially began on October 17, 2024.

The restaurant run by Go Min-si's character is set in Jeonju's hanok village, next to the Nambu market, and the series showcases numerous real and famous restaurants in the city.

In one episode, Shin Chun-seung's character asks guest actor Park Ji-hoon what high school he attended, a nod to both actors having previously met in the second season of Weak Hero.

The series was the first television production invited to screen specially at the Jeonju International Film Festival, where the first two chapters were shown followed by a panel discussion with the director, creator and main cast.

Internationally, the series reached the number one position in Netflix's global non-English-speaking top 10 in seventeen countries, including South Korea, the Philippines, Vietnam, Thailand, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Indonesia, and ranked in the top ten in 53 countries.

Midway through airing, controversy arose when an online forum accused Go Min-si of having committed school violence in the past; her agency, Mystic Story, denied the accusations and announced legal action, while the series' audience stalled at around 2.9%.

Despite the controversy and the plot twist in the second half and the male character losing popularity, the series recovered in its final episode and closed with its highest domestic audience, 3.8%.
