The story weaves together several real historical events from Indo-Pakistani nuclear tensions in the 1960s and 1970s, including Homi J. Bhabha's claim to build India's nuclear weapons within 18 months, his death in a 1966 plane crash amid assassination allegations, the creation of R&AW in 1968, the 1972 Shimla Agreement, and Zulfikar Ali Bhutto's Project 706 that recruited Pakistani nuclear physicists living abroad, including Munir Ahmad Khan.

Critics were divided on the show, with some praising the strong lead performances of Pratik Gandhi and Sunny Hinduja and the tense narrative, while others criticized its low production values, predictable plot, and weak final act.

Subhash K Jha of News24 criticized the visible lack of budget, remarking that the depiction of Islamabad looked like Chandni Chowk on a dry day.

India Today's Sana Farzeen noted that the series distinguishes itself from James Bond-style spy fiction by focusing on ordinary Indian family men driven by duty rather than gunplay and mindless killing.
