Screenwriter Moon Yoo-seok, a former judge for 23 years turned author, revisits the legal sensitivity already explored in Ms. Hammurabi (2018) and The Devil Judge (2021), with the story of a judge who accidentally becomes a public interest lawyer.

Director Kim Seong-yoon revealed that he cried for the first time in his career during filming, particularly during a judge's verdict scene, which convinced him that this story deserved to be told.

Jung Kyung-ho was revealed in the lead role of the judge turned public lawyer in mid-February 2025, followed by Lee Yoo-young in late March to play the law firm's CEO, then So Joo-yeon in late April.

Yoon Na-moo and So Joo-yeon reunite in this series after already appearing together in the SBS series Dr. Romantic 2 and Dr. Romantic 3.

Seoul Central District Court was filmed only for exterior scenes, with interior scenes shot at the Korean War Memorial in Itaewon for security and filming condition reasons.

Scenes taking place by the lake where the main character's mother rests were filmed at Daecheong Lake Park in Daejeon.

Composer Park Sung-il reunites with director Kim Seong-yoon after their collaboration on the series Itaewon Class (2020).

The story of an elderly couple who lost their granddaughter, mentioned in the second episode, is clearly inspired by the Itaewon disaster that occurred on October 29, 2022, through details such as the date of death, Halloween costume, and the grandfather's warning about the crowd.

The series is the first to deal in detail with the former exemption from criminal liability between close relatives (chinjok-sangdorye), abolished following a constitutional court decision and legislative reform, a subject reminiscent of the Park Soo-hong case.

The final episode reached a viewership of 10.003%, which is a record for the series, following more modest beginnings at 4.5% for the first episode.
