The series was produced by Studio S and then officially acquired by Netflix as original content; the English title changed from the working title "Lovestuck" to "Our Sticky Love" after Netflix presented its Korean content lineup for 2026.

This is the second collaboration between screenwriter Mo Ji-hae and director Kim Chan-han—they first worked together four years earlier on the original Wavve series "You Raise Me Up" (2021).

Director Kim Chan-han previously directed projects such as "Do You Like Brahms?" (2020) and "My Demon" (2023–2024).

In February 2025, the publication OSEN reported that Jung Hae-in and Ha Yeon positively considered offers for the main roles, and their agencies confirmed that the actors were reviewing the script before finalizing their contracts.

According to SPOTV News, Ho Sung-tae joined the cast as a powerful crime syndicate boss, a key element of the series' conflict, and Lee Jun-young appeared as a special guest.

In May 2026, the publication Newsen reported that Lee Jae-won was confirmed for the role of a neuropsychiatrist and the main character's high school classmate.

Main filming began on April 10, 2025, and took place in several iconic locations in the city of Tandin, including Myeongchon Golcheonji Pond, Songsong Cherry Blossom Trail, and Ami Art Museum.

Netflix initially confirmed that the series' premiere was scheduled for the third quarter of 2026 as part of the annual Korean content lineup, and by July 2026 the release date was confirmed as August 7.
