Siren's Kiss is an adaptation of the 1999 Fuji TV Japanese series Koori no Sekai, written by Hisashi Nozawa.

An early version of this project was reportedly in development around 2016 by screenwriter Park Seung-hye, known for East of Eden and A Man Called God, and was under discussion for broadcast on KBS, but the project was shelved after KBS stated no scheduling decision had been made.

Park Min-young and Wi Ha-joon were reportedly cast in the lead roles in March 2025, with Kim Jung-hyun joining the cast in August 2025.

Music director Heo Sung-jin revealed in a July 2025 interview that she began composing the score and OST well ahead of the production schedule, reviewing the script to write individual tracks and preparing songs early to help cast vocalists for the soundtrack.

Unlike previous productions, the series was not made available on Wavve, and it received production support from NH Nonghyup Life Insurance, whose actual company name appears in the drama.

According to Nielsen Korea, the first episode of Siren's Kiss recorded an average audience share of 5.5% and a peak of 7.2%, both nationwide and in the Seoul metropolitan area.

The series is internationally distributed on Amazon Prime Video, excluding South Korea and China, while airing domestically on tvN.
