Impact

Impact is a 2009 Canadian action disaster miniseries directed by Mike Rohl and written by Michael Vickerman, distributed by Tandem Communications.

The two-part miniseries, with episodes referred to as 'Nights', was filmed in Victoria, British Columbia (including Central Park, the University of Victoria and the Dominion Astrophysical Observatory) as well as in Berlin, Germany.

The mini-series premiered on the Canadian premium channel Super Channel on February 14 and 15, 2009, before airing on ABC in the United States on June 21 and 28, 2009, and later on Alpha TV in Greece in September 2011.

The miniseries received little attention from the scientific community, being criticized for its lack of realism, incorrect use of scientific terminology, and a basic misunderstanding of the law of gravity.

The Washington Post published a critical review titled 'Early Warning About Impact: Urgency Never Hits' on June 20, 2009, ahead of its US broadcast.
