Women's Murder Club

The series is based on the best-selling Women's Murder Club novels by James Patterson and Maxine Paetro, and was created by Elizabeth Craft and Sarah Fain.

In the unaired pilot, the character of Tom Hogan was played by Christopher Wiehl, but he was later recast with Rob Estes for the aired series.

After returning from the writers' strike, the character Denise Kwon (Linda Park) was briefly dropped from the opening credits for one episode before being restored as a series regular by the next episode.

ABC ordered three additional scripts for the show on October 31, 2007, shortly after its premiere, but ultimately cancelled the series after one season, confirming on May 12, 2008 that it would not return.

Critical reception was mixed: San Francisco Chronicle critic Tim Goodman gave it the paper's lowest possible rating, while USA Today's Robert Bianco and Los Angeles Times' Mary McNamara both wrote positive reviews praising the cast.

The show spawned a series of tie-in hidden object video games for PC and Mac, including Death in Scarlet (2008), Darker Shade of Grey (2009), Twice in a Blue Moon (2009), and Little Black Lies (2010), as well as Women's Murder Club: Games of Passion (2009).

The series aired internationally under various titles and time slots, including as 'El Club Contra el Crimen' on the Spanish Fox network, and was even broadcast to U.S. troops overseas via the American Forces Network in 2008.
