Internationally it can be seen on FX in the United Kingdom, The Science Channel, Halogen TV and in syndication and CW Plus in the United States, and FX Latin America in Mexico; as well as numerous broadcasters in Europe and Asia. Trivia & behind the scenes

/
Origins

ReGenesis was produced by The Movie Network and Movie Central alongside Shaftesbury Films, and ran for four seasons from 2004 to 2008 centered on a fictional biotechnology advisory organization called NorBAC.

Trivia

The series used Aled Edwards, a real Canadian molecular biologist and director of the Structural Genomics Consortium, as its scientific consultant to ground the storylines in real science.

References

The show was an early pioneer in cross-platform storytelling, pairing the broadcast with an alternate reality game called ReGenesis Extended Reality, created by Xenophile Media with Shaftesbury Films, which drew fans into an online conspiracy that wove in and out of the TV plot.

Reception

The ReGenesis Extended Reality alternate reality game won multiple awards, including the 2004 Canadian New Media Award for Best Cross-Platform Project, a 2006 Gemini Award for Best Cross-Platform, a 2006 Banff World Television Festival Award for Interactive Television, and a 2007 International Emmy for Outstanding Interactive Program.

Trivia

An additional interactive spin-off, ReGenesis: ReMixed, was a 14-episode podcast series hosted by the show's Music Supervisor Andrea Higgins featuring the series' music and exclusive interviews with cast and crew, but neither this podcast nor the ARG continued past the second season.

Music

The main title theme song, 'Anywhere But Here,' was performed by the Montreal band Behavior, which was actually a solo alias for producer/composer Michael McCann; the show's score was primarily composed by Tom Third with contributions from Robert Carli.

Reception

Despite Shaftesbury Films announcing that DVD releases for Seasons 2 through 4 would follow in North America during 2009 and 2010, as of February 2013 those releases had still not materialized there, though the seasons did eventually appear on DVD in other territories such as Japan and Germany.
