Robson Arms follows the lives of the tenants in a once-grand low-rise in Vancouver's eclectic West End. The building is home to an unlikely collection of characters who live under one roof, yet occupy different worlds. One thing is certain, you'll never see your neighbours the same way again.

Trivia & behind the scenes

/
Origins

Robson Arms was created to fulfill a licensing requirement imposed on CTV's Vancouver station CIVT, which had originally promised, as an independent station, to produce 20 episodes of an anthology series called The Storytellers.

Origins

Only ten episodes of The Storytellers were ever produced, and the CRTC did not accept that CIVT's new network programming replaced this commitment, so it asked the station to fulfill its original promise.

Origins

CTV decided the anthology concept would work better as a series featuring common recurring characters, which led to the creation of Robson Arms.

Casting

Cast members Gabrielle Miller and Fred Ewanuick appeared in Robson Arms at the same time they were playing continuing roles in another CTV production, Corner Gas.

Filming

Although the series is set at a fictional apartment building on Pendrell Street in Vancouver's West End, the building actually used for filming, called Taylor Manor, is really located at 951 Boundary Road on the east side of Vancouver.

Effects

To make the filming location appear as though it were in Vancouver's West End, the skyscraper skyline seen behind the building in the show is digitally superimposed.

Trivia

In each episode, a group called the Troubadours comment on the episode's storyline through song.
