Shark

CBS cancelled Shark on May 13, 2008, after two seasons, following an announcement on May 10, 2008 that the show would not continue.

The show's second season was originally set for 18 episodes but was shortened to 16 due to the 2007–2008 Writers Guild of America strike, with the final four post-strike episodes airing starting April 29, 2008 in a new 9:00 p.m. time slot.

In its second season, Shark moved from Thursday to Sunday nights at 10:00 p.m., swapping time slots with Without a Trace, which put it in direct competition with ABC's Brothers & Sisters.

Shark was filmed mostly in and around Hollywood and Los Angeles, featuring landmarks such as Hollywood Boulevard and the Hollywood Hills, with rooftop scenes shot at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel and additional scenes at the Vibe Hotel on Hollywood Boulevard.

In Canada, broadcaster Global chose to keep airing Shark on Thursdays at 10 p.m., three days ahead of the U.S. broadcast, in order to air Brothers & Sisters in the Sunday 10 p.m. slot instead, avoiding a scheduling clash between the two competing shows.

Shark briefly aired in reruns on the Ion network starting in early 2010 in a Sunday 10 p.m. to midnight slot, but was soon removed from the schedule.

In the United Kingdom, Shark was broadcast on weekdays at 11 a.m. on Channel 5, while in Australia it aired on the digital channel 7TWO starting in November 2009 before finishing its run on the W channel.
