Electra Woman and Dyna Girl

The series was created by Sid and Marty Krofft in 1976 and aired as part of the umbrella series The Krofft Supershow, running for 16 episodes in a single season.

The show was dropped during the second season, along with fellow Krofft Supershow segment Dr. Shrinker.

When later syndicated as part of the 'Krofft Super Stars' package and released on home video, the original 16 twelve-minute segments were combined into eight longer episodes.

The two lead characters, Electra Woman and Dyna Girl, worked as reporters for Newsmaker Magazine, and their surnames were never revealed on the show—only their first names, Lori and Judy.

The show's supercomputer, CrimeScope, was explicitly designed as a parody of the Batcomputer from the Batman franchise.

In 2001, The WB commissioned an unaired pilot for a new version starring Markie Post as Electra Woman and Anne Stedman as Dyna Girl, reimagining Electra Woman as a disillusioned, bitter, sexually promiscuous, chain-smoking alcoholic set 25 years after the original series.

The 2001 WB pilot cut the character of Frank Heflin but included an in-joke reference to actor Norman Alden, who had played him originally, by having Aquaman attend a university alumni function—Alden having voiced Aquaman on the Super Friends animated series.

A web series reboot starring YouTube personalities Grace Helbig and Hannah Hart was directed by Chris Marrs Piliero and shot in Vancouver, B.C. during February and March 2015, later released digitally by Fullscreen in April 2016 and on other platforms by Legendary Digital Studios and Sony Pictures Home Entertainment in June 2016.

In 1992, writer Bryan J. L. Glass and artist Michael Avon Oeming created a comic-book parody called Lycra Woman and Spandex Girl, but after DuPont sued over unauthorized use of its Lycra trademark, existing copies were destroyed and the character was renamed Flex Woman.
