Trivia & behind the scenes

/
Origins

The show's overall story is structured in two parts: Missions 1-30 form the first chapter, followed by a crossover with the movie 'Uchu Keiji Gavan THE MOVIE' in Missions 31-32, before the second chapter begins from Mission 33 onward.

Casting

According to head writer Yasuko Kobayashi, Hiromu was originally written as a weak-willed character, but pilot director Takayuki Shibasaki requested he be modeled after Tom Cruise's character in 'Top Gun', leading to his firm, declarative speech pattern.

Origins

Writer Yasuko Kobayashi based the character of Jin Masato on comedian Jun'ichi Takada's 'laid-back Heisei man' persona, though toned down slightly.

Filming

For Beet J. Stag's debut in the movie, since his character wasn't fully fleshed out yet, writer Kobayashi came up with the memorable running gag of him saying 'Don't overlap me!' to give him an immediately distinctive personality.

Effects

The Sōgan Blade prop was originally sculpted longer, but action director Hirofumi Fukuzawa, wanting to incorporate knife-fighting action, requested it be shortened to match the toy's size, resulting in a more grounded, professional fighting style inspired by military knife techniques rather than flashy jumps.

Effects

This series marked the first time leather material was used for Super Sentai suits, and the visor colors returned to matching each ranger's personal color (with mirror finish) for the first time since 'Mirai Sentai Timeranger'.

Effects

The GoBuster Ace suit was designed by tokusatsu director Hiroshi Butta to be more mobile than previous mecha suits, but it still couldn't run; running scenes were filmed only from the waist up with the leg parts removed.

Effects

To differentiate itself from countless past three-stage transforming robots, the production team added rarely-used ball-joint parts so GoBuster Ace could transform while still gripping its Buster Sword.

References

The Dark Buster suit, designed by Yasuhiro Moriki as an 'evil Red Buster', was originally colored plain red but was later repainted in a darker, muted maroon-red tone.

References

Enter Unite's design by Yutaka Izubuchi drew inspiration from Char Aznable's masked knight look from 'Mobile Suit Gundam' and the chain-as-braid detail from Crow Road in 'Kamen Rider Agito'.
