Thandiwe Newton (credited as Thandie Newton) starred as lead character Grace Travis but was written off the show in the third season, with only her character's body appearing in a container.

In 2020, Thandie Newton spoke to Vulture about traumatic experiences making Rogue, saying she felt like the token Black person on a show set in Oakland and that she was not released from her second-season contract despite wanting to leave.

Newton stated that when she declined to perform a nude scene, showrunner and executive producer Matthew Parkhill asked her scene partner to forcibly pull down her top without her consent.

Newton's character's body was shown in a container labeled as a 'Westworld Garbage Disposal', a nod to her next TV project, Westworld.

Rogue was a Canadian-British-American co-production, co-commissioned by DirecTV's Audience network and the Canadian premium services The Movie Network and Movie Central.

The series ran for four seasons and a total of 50 episodes between April 2013 and May 2017, with the fourth and final season renewed in August 2016 and premiering in March 2017.

Rogue received mixed reviews, holding a Metacritic score of 47/100 for its first season and a 38% rating on Rotten Tomatoes based on eight reviews.
