The show follows Colt Seavers, a Hollywood stuntman who moonlights as a bounty hunter, alongside his stuntman-in-training cousin Howie Munson and fellow stuntwoman Jody Banks.

Seavers's iconic truck was a Rounded-Line 1981 GMC K-2500 Wideside with the Sierra Grande equipment package, with a 1980 GMC K-25 Wideside also used during production.

General Motors supplied the production trucks at low cost, but the demanding stunts wore them out quickly, forcing the crew to use several different years, makes, and models during the first season.

From the second season onward, General Motors supplied three specially adapted trucks for stunt sequences, with the engine relocated to a mid-chassis position directly under the cab seat.
