Hidden Palms

The series began production in late 2006 under the tentative title 'Palm Springs' before being renamed Hidden Palms.

The pilot episode was leaked onto the Internet before the series officially premiered.

Due to high labor costs of filming in Palm Springs, California, Hidden Palms was actually shot at a studio in Avondale, Arizona.

Despite mostly being filmed in Arizona, parts of the pilot episode, including scenes in downtown Palm Springs, were actually filmed on location there.

Hidden Palms was originally slated to run 13 episodes as a mid-season show, but the order was reduced to 8 episodes during production.

The show's premiere was delayed multiple times; it was first announced for March 6, 2007, but that timeslot was taken over by Pussycat Dolls Present: The Search for the Next Doll, pushing the debut to May 30, 2007.

The series received mixed reviews, holding a Metacritic composite score of 45% based on 22 reviews.

The Parents Television Council criticized the show as 'cliché-ridden' and named both its pilot and finale the most offensive television programming of their respective broadcast weeks, citing depictions of underage drinking, parental suicide, and sex.
