Wünderkind author Mike Dolan achieved literary fame at age 21 with a steamy exposé on his seemingly idyllic Maine town. Origins

The series was originally conceived by creator Kevin Williamson as a straightforward drama in the same style as his earlier show Dawson's Creek, and a pilot was even produced in that format.

Origins

After picking up the series, The WB asked Williamson to retool the show into a mystery series with a whodunit spin, while keeping the same characters and relationships.

Filming

The show was filmed at The Bridge Studios in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

Reception

In most European countries, including the United Kingdom and Ireland, the series was released on DVD under the alternate title Demontown, with its seven episodes edited into three feature-length parts.

Reception

In the Netherlands, the series was released as a 2-disc DVD set containing all three Demontown parts, with the first two on disc one and the third on disc two.
