The series was created by Jonathan Levine, who also wrote and directed episodes alongside Gina Matthews and Grant Scharbo, and it aired on USA Network starting July 17, 2014.

USA Network cancelled Rush on October 2, 2014, shortly after its premiere.

Although set among wealthy Los Angeles clients and Hollywood celebrities, the series was actually filmed in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

The show scored a mixed 44 out of 100 on Metacritic and only 39% on Rotten Tomatoes, with critics calling it 'a competent but bland medical drama' that failed to add anything new to the concierge-doctor concept.
