The show was originally planned to continue in 2018 with a feature film titled 'Fizruk Saves Russia,' about the main character, now a deputy, battling a villain threatening Russia's security, but production was halted when producers deemed the footage unsatisfactory for a theatrical release and realized they wouldn't be able to reshoot it on a larger scale in time for the World Cup.

The unused ideas and characters from the abandoned 'Fizruk Saves Russia' film were later reworked and used in another TNT and Good Story Media project, the series 'Dino'.

Before Dmitry Nagiyev was cast as Foma, the role was originally considered for Nikolai Fomenko (whose surname was given to the main character), as well as Oleg Taktarov, Alexei Kravchenko, and Vladimir Yepifantsev.

In the unaired 'zero' pilot episode, the role of Mamay was played by Yan Tsapnik; after Alexander Gordon was cast as Mamay for the official series, Tsapnik instead played the character Khromulya.

The pilot version also differed from the final series in the scene where Foma and Psikh plan how to get Foma a job at the school: in the pilot they talk in an ordinary restaurant, while in the official version they talk in Psikh's strip club, where he also invites Foma to become his deputy.

Filming took place at real Moscow school No. 775 (Armavirskaya Street, building 4), before production moved to the soundstages of Good Story Media studio after the school holidays ended.

Most of season 3 was filmed in soundstages at the Kalitniki station area (Nizhny Novgorod district), while season 4 was filmed in the city of Tver.

Due to Dmitry Nagiyev's demanding schedule, filming often took place 12 hours a day and sometimes around the clock; Nagiyev performed all of his stunts himself.

For episode 25, a two-story cultural center building was specially built for the production and then burned to the ground on screen.

The premiere episode achieved a 31.4% audience share among Russian viewers aged 14-44, making it the best series launch and an absolute ratings record in TNT channel history.

The State Duma's Committee on Family, Women and Children's Affairs chairwoman Elena Mizulina publicly criticized the show in front of Russian President Vladimir Putin for its disrespectful portrayal of family and school life, given that it aired during children's viewing hours, while still acknowledging Dmitry Nagiyev's talent.

The series was banned from broadcast in Ukraine starting June 4, 2015.

Fizruk was included in the list of '10 Best Russian TV Series of 2014' according to Afisha magazine, and won the Association of Film and Television Producers award for Best Comedy Series and Best Screenplay in 2014, as well as the TEFI award for Best Sitcom in 2015.

Vladimir Zherebtsov, who played Slava (Tatyana's boyfriend), is married in real life to Anastasiya Panina, who plays Tatyana.

Actor Vladimir Sychyov (Psikh) and actress Anastasiya Sapozhnikova (who played his wife Marina) had both previously appeared in the film 'Bumer,' and the soundtrack from that film is featured in episode 18 of season 2.

Egor Klinaev, who played Nikita Serebryansky, died in a car accident on September 27, 2017.

The song 'Da ili Net' performed in episode 34 was actually sung by Dmitry Vlaskin, the actor who plays the character Dimas.
