Origins

The series officially began development in 2002 under the guidance of sitcom writer Russell Marcus, who created the show for Disney Channel.

Filming

During the production of season 2, the crew grew significantly after many staff members from the recently canceled Disney Channel series The Buzz on Maggie were hired.

Reception

Brandy & Mr. Whiskers won a Daytime Emmy Award for 'Individual Achievement in Animation' on May 15, 2005.

For the show's 20th anniversary, the first episode ('Mr. Whiskers' First Friend/The Babysitter's Flub') was released in HD on the official Disney Channel Animation YouTube page on August 21, 2024.
