Mike Tyson Mysteries is the first collaboration between Warner Bros. Animation and Williams Street, co-created by Mike Tyson himself along with Hugh Davidson and Lee Stimmel.

The show's style deliberately borrows from earlier animated properties such as I Am the Greatest: The Adventures of Muhammad Ali, Scooby-Doo, Where Are You!, Jonny Quest, The Funky Phantom, and especially the 1983-86 Ruby-Spears production Mister T.

Mike Tyson voices himself as the title character, and also appears in live-action form during the end credits of each episode.

Comedian Norm Macdonald voiced the sarcastic, alcoholic Pigeon character, a former human transformed into a bird by his ex-wife as a curse for cheating on her.

The show frequently uses mysteries only as a loose framing device, often abandoning them entirely mid-episode for oddball tangents, with many episodes ending on cliffhangers that are never resolved.

Writer Larry Dorf revealed in a May 2020 podcast interview that the series had not been renewed and that its fourth season, which premiered in 2019, would be its last.

The first season holds an 82% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes based on 11 reviews and a score of 75 out of 100 on Metacritic based on 6 reviews, both indicating generally favorable reception.

In Canada, the series was exclusively available on Netflix until June 30, 2022.
