Set between The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, The Freemaker Adventures centers on a family of three young siblings—young boy Rowan, his sister Kordi, and their brother Zander—known as the Freemakers, who salvage parts from destroyed or damaged ships which they use to build new ones, which they sell in order to make their living. They are accompanied by their salvaged battle droid Roger.

Origins

The series is set between Star Wars: Episode V – The Empire Strikes Back and Episode VI – Return of the Jedi, following a family of scavengers who build ships from salvaged parts.

References

The character Jek-14 first appeared in Lego Star Wars: The Yoda Chronicles and its sequel series Lego Star Wars: The New Yoda Chronicles, and appears in The Freemaker Adventures in his elderly form from the latter series.

Quarrie, an elderly Mon Calamari mechanic who becomes Rowan's mentor in season 2, is the character responsible for creating the B-Wing in Star Wars: Rebels.

A running gag involves Durpin, a cowardly Imperial officer, being repeatedly relocated to another Empire-controlled planet after each failure, only to be visited again by the Freemakers and suffer another humiliating defeat.

Reception

To celebrate Star Wars Day, Disney XD released five Lego Star Wars: The Freemaker Adventures shorts on May 4, 2017, ahead of the season 2 premiere; these shorts were later compiled into the season 2 premiere episode 'A New Home'.

Trivia

The Freemakers, R0-GR, Naare, Graballa, and Baash and Raam became playable characters in the video game Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens through a downloadable 'Freemaker Adventures Character Pack' released on July 26, 2016.

Origins

A follow-up series, Lego Star Wars: All-Stars, debuted in 2018 and shifted focus to other Freemaker family members, including the siblings' parents Pace and Lena during the era of Solo: A Star Wars Story and Zander's daughter Moxie during the sequel trilogy era.
