During the pilot's casting process, the main character was originally named 'Carter Morrison' before being renamed 'Hayes Morrison' prior to filming.

Daniel di Tomasso was originally cast as Hayes' brother, but was dropped after the pilot was shot for creative reasons and replaced by Daniel Franzese, who kept the role starting from the pilot itself.

The pilot and the rest of the series were filmed in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, primarily at Cinespace Film Studios' Kipling Avenue facility.
