Eleventh Hour

The American series is a remake of a 2006 British ITV series of the same name, which originally ran for four 90-minute episodes.

The show was a joint production between Jerry Bruckheimer Television, Granada America, and Warner Bros. Television, airing on CBS from October 2008 to April 2009.

The pilot episode, titled 'Resurrection', was produced with a budget of four million dollars, while subsequent episodes were budgeted at approximately two million dollars each.

CBS actually shot a second potential pilot episode called 'Agro', but ultimately chose to premiere the series with the original $4 million pilot 'Resurrection' instead.

After the show's cancellation was announced on May 19, 2009, a small group of dedicated fans formed the 'Eleventh Hour Resurrection Campaign' to try to save the series, though they were unable to convince another network to pick it up.

The series debuted with 11.6 million viewers but retained only about 50% of the audience from its lead-in show CSI, which ultimately contributed to its cancellation.

After strong early ratings performance, CBS increased its initial order and by December 2008 had ordered five additional scripts, bringing the total episode count to 18.

The Biotechnology Industry Organization created a companion blog called EleventhHourFacts.com, featuring subject matter experts discussing the scientific basis behind each episode through video interviews and live blogging.
